Black Girls Need Sun was founded as a reminder to all Black girls, ages seven to seventy-seven, to step back into the light, embrace the great outdoors and reclaim their power.
Remember those carefree days when you could spend HOURS playing outside? I'm talking those days where "if you go outside, you stay outside," 'cause Mama didn't play about that AC (and, honestly, I get it now). We lost track of time just riding our bikes, jumping rope, hopping fences and soaking up sunlight. Those moments were more than just play; they were a dance with freedom and a testament to your vibrant spirits. In the hustle and bustle of adult life, it's easy for us to forget that the little child within us is still there, eager to explore, laugh, and revel in the beauty of the world around us.
Here, we will delve into the importance of reconnecting with that inner child, as well as the benefits of engaging in sun-rich activities. Whether it's a peaceful walk in the park, a sandy day at the beach, or some brand new adventure, these experiences not only nurture our bodies but also reignite the spark within our souls.
