Black Girls Need…Balance

I’ll admit, life has been incredibly busy for me lately, so I haven’t been able to spend as much time outside as I’d like—or need. Up until recently, I was fully embracing the Black Girls Need Sun mission with a solid routine that kept me connected to nature, even when things got hectic.

Now that I’m in a new setting, and life is more demanding, I’ve been struggling to find my time in the sun. Between moving my family across town, increasing commitments, business expansion, and busy babies, my plate has been more than full.

More work means less leisure.

To be frank, I’m overwhelmed by all of these transitions and I can definitely feel it in my body. My brain is foggy, I’m more irritable than usual and I’m noticing little missteps along the way. It’s as if life is racing by, leaving little time to pause and take it all in.

Despite these shifts, I know that I must dedicate time for self-love, self-care and self-reflection—now more than ever. Life slows down for no one, but it’s essential to seek out moments of light, because Black girls STILL need sun.

Change is hard but often necessary.

That’s why I’ve decided to take on the 15 for 15 challenge. For 15 consecutive days, I am dedicating AT LEAST 15 minutes of my time outside EVERY SINGLE DAY. I am positive that this will help me regain the balance and order I need to establish a new normal in this phase of life. If you’ve been feeling outside of yourself, I encourage you to join me.

Let’s get back on track and reclaim our joy together! Join the 15-day challenge at: https://www.blackgirlsneedsun.com/challenges

Love and light, always.
